About Carboxyfacials

CO2LiftPro® is a carboxytherapy gel applied to the face to administer carbon dioxide (CO₂) gas to the skin and underlying tissues. It is a powerful anti-aging solution designed for the face, eyes and neck. Patients should expect to see increased hydration, lifting and tightening of the skin, as well as a reduction in wrinkles, pore size, redness and swelling. Brighter skin tone and smoother skin texture are also seen. It can be combined with other treatments such a laser, IPL and microneedling to reduce downtime and improve treatment results. Treatments are simple and can be purchased for home use.

What is a Carboxyfacial?

A Carboxyfacial is a procedure where CO2LiftPro® gel is applied to the skin for 45 minutes. The application improves oxygen and nutrients in the tissues to improve hydration and promote collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid production.

How does a Carboxyfacial work?

Carbon dioxide (CO₂) is created in the CO2LiftPro® gel. It is applied to the skin like a mask which allows the C0₂ to get absorbed into the skin. The infusion of CO₂ into the skin leads to a reduction of oxygen beneath the skin. This causes the body to improve blood flow to the area and release more oxygen, nutrients and anti-inflammatory mediators from the surrounding cells.

What are the effects of a Carboxyfacial?

The effects of CO2LiftPro® include increased tissue oxygenation, increased blood flow, discharge of body waste, and simulation of collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid.

Who can benefit from a Carboxyfacial?

CO2LiftPro® can be used by anyone looking to reduce the signs of aging. Skin hydration improves by over 117%. Improvement in skin texture, fine lines, crepey skin and dark circles are just some of the benefits of treatment. It can be used with other procedures to reduce downtime and improve results. Medical uses include treatment of eczema, rosacea and other inflammatory skin conditions as well as skin ulcers due to its powerful anti-inflammatory and wound healing effects. The easy application is designed for at-home use.

Who should not get a Carboxyfacial?

You should not have a carboxyfacial if you have an active skin infection in the area for treatment, especially if you have a cold sore or shingles. You should also not have one if you have an allergy to any of the ingredients including orange extract.

Are CO2Lift® gel masks the same as CO2LiftPro® gel masks?

CO2LiftPro® has a 30% higher concentration of CO₂ than CO2Lift®.

Are Carboxyfacial results immediate?

Hydration results are seen immediately with CO2LiftPro®. Other results will also improve with time due to the promotion of collagen, elastin, and hyaluronic acid production.

Are Carboxyfacials painful?

No, Carboxyfacials are pain-free. There are no injections. The gel is simply applied to the skin and removed 45 minutes later.

What are the side effects of a Carboxyfacial?

CO2LiftPro® is an extremely safe procedure. Some patients may experience a temporary red flush of the skin due to increased blood flow.

How many Carboxyfacials are needed?

For best anti-aging results, it is recommended to undergo 3 weekly treatments of CO2LiftPro® and then monthly maintenance treatments after that.

When treating eczema and other inflammatory skin conditions, it is recommended that CO2LiftPro® is applied every other day until improvement is seen, and then once per month for maintenance.

How do I prepare for a Carboxyfacial?

You can continue all skin care products including retinol, antioxidants, and growth factors before a carboxyfacial. It is advisable to avoid sun exposure or tanning for 2 weeks before any procedure.

What should I do after undergoing a Carboxyfacial?

The CO2LiftPro® gel will solidify and dry out into a mask that can be peeled off. After removing the CO2LiftPro® mask you can take a moist face cloth to wipe off any residual gel that remains. You can then put on your normal skin care products.
